A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Service Coordinator for a promising opportunity. In this role, the Service Coordinator will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered Rapid Re-Housing and Homeless Prevention services to low-income individuals and families who are experiencing homeless and housing instability.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Temp to Perm
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate operations as part of the program management team in the LI Continuum of Care, providing regular updates to community stakeholders at P1 meeting
  • Support program implementation efforts across the full service region (NYC and Long Island)
  • Develop the Service Coordination team schedules, assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned work
  • Provide program and professional supervision and work with staff to address areas of improvement and opportunities for professional development
  • Monitor outcomes and delivery of core supportive services and referrals (e.g., Housing Stability Plans, Service Coordination that follows a Progressive Engagement Model, income support services, referrals for essential services such as legal aid, healthcare, etc.)
  • Assist with accreditation reviews, monitoring visits and program audits
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and following through on issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the implementation and development of best practices in the field
  • Maintain a small caseload of participants, as needed
  • Conduct fieldwork up to 40% of the work week, including home visits, VA and shelter meetings and other community-based work
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources and/or a related role
  • Associate’s Degree
  • Proven expertise in Program Management and Trauma-informed supervision of staff, managers and program operations
  • Microsoft Office proficient

Desired Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Supervisory role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
  • Experience working with low-income individuals and families; cultural competency and sensitivity in working with persons from diverse populations
  • Experience navigating the complex service systems targeted to low-income families and veterans
