A health services network on Long Island is actively seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join one of their preschools in Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:30am to 2pm
- Patient Population: Preschool-aged
Responsibilities:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will:
- Perform evaluations and informal assessments
- Prepare and set up treatment area/activities for assigned children.
- Implement and coordinate goal-oriented therapy, which incorporates environmental modifications, augmentative communication, modeling, expansion, feedback and the use of positive reinforcement strategies.
- Document progress using daily notes, quarterly progress notes and annual review report.
- Consult with classroom staff. Attend team and departmental meetings.
- Communication regarding progress and carry over with families.
- Evaluate students in preparation for Annual Review. Attend CPSE meetings when needed.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- NYS Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- TSSLD
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of Clinical experience
