Reporting to the Director of Benefits & HRIS, The Senior Benefits Administrator supports the Benefits team to administer a range of core functions related to benefits administration, leave management, and 401K support. This position is a blended role that supports both Benefits Administration and Retirement Plan activities. This role is the foundation for a Benefits professional career path. This position has a pivotal and wide range of communications within the organization that includes Human Resources, employees, managers, and executives.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist employees in understanding the organization's benefits offerings and act as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefits providers.
  • Conduct orientation or enrollment meetings, advise on eligibility, costs, and coverage, and provide information for use in memos, presentations, or other benefits communications.
  • Provide guidance during claims or enrollment processes.
  • Maintain records related to benefits plan participation or contributions.
  • Perform a range of activities that include New Hire enrollments, Open Enrollment, Qualified Life Events, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries made to the Benefits mailbox.
  • Manage carrier billing and submit for approval.
  • Review supporting docs for 401K requests & files as needed.
  • Escalate 401K or technical issues to appropriate team members as needed and work with the Ascensus representative to resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Work directly with carrier account contacts or concierge service to resolve benefits issues.
  • Support Cobra activities with the Vendor.
  • Review the list of pending EOI for voluntary life enrollments.
  • Support other projects as needed.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of Benefits and Retirement Plan Administration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills along with Org Plus
  • Excellent communication skills and able to interface with all levels of employees from entry level to executives
  • 5-7 years of administrative positions in Benefits
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills, exemplary customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
