Principal Datadog Engineer / Sr. Datadog Engineer & Architect
We’re growing our observability practice and looking for Datadog experts to help lead the way. Depending on your experience, you’ll join us as either a Principal Engineer(driving strategy and vision) or a Senior Engineer/Architect(leading projects and technical execution).
What You’ll Do
- Design and scale observability solutions with Datadog across apps, infrastructure, cloud, and security.
- Build dashboards, monitors, and alerting frameworks tailored to business needs.
- Deploy and integrate Datadog agents, APIs, and automation across multi-cloud environments.
- Optimize Datadog usage and cost management while ensuring meaningful, actionable alerts.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Cloud, and Security teams to embed observability in daily operations.
- Mentor teammates and share best practices through training, reviews, and documentation.
At the Principal level:
you’ll shape long-term observability strategy, influence enterprise policies, and represent technical expertise across and outside the organization.
At the Senior level:
you’ll lead project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and refine technical approaches within your team’s scope.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years (Senior) / 10+ years (Principal) of engineering experience (degree or equivalent).
- Datadog Fundamentals or APM/Distributed Tracing Certification.
- Hands-on experience with Datadog monitoring, APM, tracing, and automation.
- Strong scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML) and CI/CD integration skills.
- Cloud DevOps/Automation background with Git or similar version control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor, communicate, and lead.
