A community-based outpatient mental health program is seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist to join its Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS) team. This is a clinical role providing recovery-focused, harm-reduction services to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 35 hours/week
- Program / Team: Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS)
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling with a focus on substance use recovery and harm reduction
- Complete all assigned community-based visits within a 7-hour workday
- Transport clients when necessary (e.g., hospital discharges)
- Facilitate group sessions aligned with each client's treatment plan
- Complete initial assessments, treatment plans, and all required documentation within established timeframes
- Submit progress notes on the day of service and sign within 48 hours
- Complete discharge documentation and 30, 60, and 90-day follow-ups
- Coordinate with medical staff to obtain hospital discharge paperwork and update client files
- Report significant events and incidents per policy
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications: CASAC/CASAC-T without a master’s may be considered based on experience
