A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Telemetry team at one of their hospitals in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Days or Nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week & rotating weekends (Sat & Sun)
- Hours: 7:30am-8pm or 7:30pm-8am
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' heart activity and vital signs
- Tracking patients' cardiac rhythm, heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Continuously monitor patients' heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation using equipment like ECGs and other specialized devices
- Analyze the telemetry data to identify any trends, abnormalities, or changes in a patient's condition that may require immediate attention or intervention
- Perform routine and emergency assessments of patients, including physical exams and reviewing their medical histories
- Administer medications as prescribed, particularly those related to cardiac care, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, medications, lifestyle changes, and discharge instructions
- Meticulously document patients' conditions, treatments, and progress to ensure continuity of care
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry role/setting
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS and BLS certification
- Experience with Phlebotomy
- Proven skills in IV insertion
- Conscious sedation skills
