Senior SQA Tester
A top Fortune 50 financial institution based in Vienna, VA is currently seeking a Senior SQA Tester to join their team. This fully remote role will focus on performing integration, regression, and functional testing to ensure compliance with system requirements and organizational policies. The Senior SQA Tester will also assist with requirements analysis, test case creation, and execution to support new or modified systems.
About the Opportunity:
- Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based)
- Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday–Friday
- Hours: 40 per week
- Setting: Remote corporate IT environment
- Duration: Contract assignment
Responsibilities:
The Senior SQA Tester will be responsible for:
- Assisting QA Analysts to certify system testing is complete and ready for production
- Creating and editing test cases in alignment with system requirements
- Creating, modifying, and/or locating test data and conditions for execution
- Identifying areas for improved testing processes
- Coordinating and scheduling input to maintain test environments
- Reporting testing activity, including time spent, delays, and discrepancies found
- Serving as test lead on assigned projects
- Ensuring clear and effective communication of testing material
- Managing full project lifecycle activities, including:
- Establishing and leading project teams
- Developing project plans, scope, schedules, costs, and communications
- Managing resources, timelines, deadlines, and quality
- Handling risk, issue, and change management
- Ensuring successful project implementation
- Serving as subject matter expert (SME) on business functions, systems, policies, and/or procedures
- Assisting with employee inquiries or problem resolution as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Experience testing complex systems across multiple platforms
- Advanced knowledge of development and operations methodologies (e.g., ITIL, SDLC)
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines
- Effective presentation skills to communicate findings and recommendations clearly
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
