A leading financial services firm headquartered in McLean, VA is currently seeking a UX Content / Conversation Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role supporting strategic AI and conversational design initiatives, focused on creating user-centric chatbot and IVR experiences.

Responsibilities:
The UX Content / Conversation Designer
will be responsible for:
- Designing end-to-end conversation flows for chatbot, IVR, and other conversational interfaces
- Writing and editing natural, user-friendly conversational content that aligns with brand voice
- Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to develop and implement conversation strategies
- Leveraging user data and testing feedback to optimize conversational experiences
- Defining intents, utterances, and dialog logic for NLU platforms
- Helping to create and maintain internal design guidelines and documentation
- Promoting accessibility and inclusive language in all conversational touchpoints
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in conversation design or UX content creation
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or a related field
- Strong portfolio of conversational work (chat, voice, or multimodal)
- Proficiency in platforms like Dialogflow, Rasa, IBM Watson, or Voiceflow
- Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking, and accessibility best practices
- Excellent writing and editing skills with an ear for natural language
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Self-starter with the ability to handle ambiguity and evolving requirements
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the financial services or fintech industry
- Background in linguistics, UX research, or technical writing
- Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Jira, or Confluence
- Curiosity and empathy when designing for diverse users
