A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated UX Designer for our client in the McLean, VA area. They are seeking a talented and experienced UX Design contractor to develop user-centered design solutions that will enhance the functionality and search experience on our company intranet.
This role requires onsite presence at least 2 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Support and/or develop user-centered design solutions for all levels of products and digital initiatives via user interface solutions and interaction models.
- Prioritizes initiatives and coordinates deployment of current and future User Experience (UX) design projects.
- Serves as a UX project lead, representing and managing team involvement of large complex technical projects.
- Oversee/direct most complex/unusual tasks with significant impact and broad latitude.
- Develop and recommend comprehensive user experience (UX) strategies.
- Analyze the user experience by evaluating the applications end-to-end, seeking out opportunities for improved experiences.
- Influence project team members and business partners by explaining the impact of designing/developing with the end-user in mind.
- Define user experience goals and oversees research initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, User-Centered Design/Human-Computer Interaction, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Extensive experience of design fundamentals, such as color theory, typography and composition.
- Experience in interaction design, visual design, and industry standards.
- Extensive experience of user centered design processes and best practices.
- Expertise with modern development standards, techniques and methodologies (e.g., HTML, XHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, etc.).
- Expert knowledge of best practices for web and mobile-based content, tools, and forms.
- Extensive experience interpreting requirements into executable design solutions.
