A nonprofit services organization in New York City is looking to add a new Vocational Specialist will to join their team. As a member of a mobile multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Vocational Specialist will be responsible for providing rehabilitative services and consultation.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Caseload: Approximately 70–80+ shared among Clinicians
Responsibilities:
- Integrate vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the ACT Team members
- Assist through all phases of the vocational service provision
- Perform routine clinical services as a member of the ACT Team
- Oversee the recipients and for charting services
- Ensure revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change
- Advocate for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working with persons who deal with Mental Illnesses
- High School Diploma / GED
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, and/or related field
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Basic knowledge of Human Services
